Title : RPRV (A) Oblique Wing Control Station

Caption :

The Oblique Wing Research Aircraft was flown through the mid-1970s. It had a wing that could rotate up to 45 degrees of sweep angle. It was an RPRV and had a camera in the nose to help the pilot. It was built to study the feasibility of such a wing, which later led to a manned aircraft (the AD-1). The Oblique Wing only flew three flights of about one hour each. This was one of many simulations that used the ICARUS 6DOF digital/hybrid simulation capability.
