Title : Grand Prairie of North Texas, Texas, U.S.A. October 1993

Caption :

The flat terrain of the Grand Prairie north of Dallas stretches for miles, broken only by the wooded stream valleys (thin dark features) and urban areas. The more reflective areas show four of the larger cities north of Dallas oriented in an almost perfect square—McKinney and Sherman along U. S. Highway 75 and, to their west, Denton and Gainesville along Interstate Highway 35. Viewing north to south, several bodies of water are apparent—a small section of Lake Texoma, which was created by damming part of the Red River (lower right corner); Lake Ray Roberts; larger Garza Little Elm Reservoir; and part of Lake Grapevine.
