(10/15/1998) -- Viewed from below, the orbiter Endeavour appears in flight as it hangs suspended inside the Vehicle Assembly Building. The orbiter is being lifted to its vertical position to be mated to the solid rocket boosters and external tank that will help launch STS-88 in December 1998. STs-88 is the first flight for the International Space Station, with the primary payload the Unity connecting module. Unity will be mated to the Russian-built Zarya control module expected to already be in orbit at that time
