The Soyuz 7 and 8 crafts planned to perform a semi-automatic docking, but the spacecrafts never came within less than 500 meters of each other due to the failure of the automatic rendezvous system, Igla. The Soyuz 6/7/8 crafts landed one craft per day on October 16 to 18.
