Arabella, a common cross spider, spins an earthly web aboard the second Skylab mission in 1973 after initial disoriented attempts. The experiment, Web Formation in Zero Gravity, part of the Skylab Student Project, was submitted by Judith Miles, a junior at Leington High School in Leington, Massachusetts. The Marshall Space Flight Center had program management responsibility for the development of Skylab hardware and experiments, including the Skylab Student Project.
